Orientation to Human Subjects Research Committee Lawrence
Mary Denning, associate coordinator, provided an orientation and review of HSCL processes. HSCL review is not required if the assessment activity will be used solely to inform management. If the data will be used in other scenarios (conference presentation, publication, etc.) HSCL review is required. Other materials were distributed to attendees.

Review of draft protocols for documenting assessment activities
Members discussed creating a Web-based form that staff could complete. While these protocols address the end of an assessment project, guidance for beginning an assessment project is needed. Thelma Simons and Jill Glaser volunteered to create an assessment checklist for review at the next meeting, August 14.
